principal designer

sara received her bachelors degree from New York University and began her career in finance before returning to study interior design at the harrington institute of design in chicago. after graduating, sara worked as a designer at firms in chicago, new york, and dallas. sara launched slic design in 2012. with each project, sara’s intention is to create deeply personal homes that reflect the people who live in them. outside of slic, sara’s focus is on her husband, two little girls & two menace dogs.

jarrod franks
senior designer

jarrod earned his Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Texas State University, where he developed a refined approach to creating thoughtful, considered spaces. With experience in high-end residential interiors and architectural design, he brings a holistic understanding of the built environment and an appreciation for how proportion, scale, and materiality shape the experience of a space. Outside the studio, Jarrod spends time with his two huskies, who serve as a daily reminder that every space is meant to be lived in.

brandy balthazar
senior designer

brandy received her Bachelor of Interior Design from Louisiana State University. A chance visit to Austin sparked an immediate love for the city. Her passion lies in creating rich, layered environments that feel both intentional and deeply rooted. She approaches each project by using natural materials to blur the boundaries between the interior and the natural world, all central to her biophilic design philosophy.

Outside of the studio, you'll likely find Brandy in her garden. She also loves keeping up with her energetic toddler and exploring new city's with her husband.

lauren fricke
associate designer

lauren has a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Lauren believes good design should be both beautiful, meaningful, and accessible to everyone. Her approach is rooted in the idea that the spaces we inhabit can shift how we feel, move, and experience everyday life. She gravitates toward interiors with character that are thoughtful, layered, and never too predictable.

Outside the studio, she’s usually solo traveling, hunting for vintage gems, spending time with her Cashew.

Jasmin carranza
director of operations

jasmin received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from the University of Houston. Growing up with a mother who always created a beautiful home, she developed a love for design, color, textiles, and all the little details that make a space feel special. She believes a space should feel collected, not perfect, with a mix of meaningful pieces, personal touches, and details that make it feel like home. While working in design, Jasmin found that she loved the behind-the-scenes part of the process, from organizing the details and bringing everything together to watching each vision come to life.

Outside of the studio, Jasmin spends her time traveling, running around Town Lake, and convincing herself she doesn’t need another outfit (and buying it anyway).

isabelle stadulis
junior designer

isabelle received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. With past experience in both Residential and small Restaurant Design, she developed her love for color and creating spaces that are meant to be shared. She believes your environment has the power to shape your peace of mind. By crafting spaces tailored specifically to you that are easy to maintain and reflect you, she helps create homes that nurture clarity and positive energy.

Outside of the studio, you’ll likely find her on the soccer field, whipping up a new recipe, or practicing her Spanish. She also loves reading in the sun and scouting out the best local spots to play a round of pool!

Peyton roark
interior design intern

Peyton roark, studied Interior Design at Texas State University, where she developed a strong foundation in space planning, material selection, and creating functional, thoughtfully designed environments. She has always been drawn to residential design and enjoys creating homes that feel both beautiful and deeply personal to each client. Peyton believes great design is achieved through collaboration, thoughtful details, and spaces that reflect the people who live in them. She approaches every project with creativity, curiosity, and a desire to make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow as a designer.

Outside of the studio, Peyton enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants with friends, spending time with her cats, and playing the guitar. She also finds inspiration in exploring beautiful spaces and discovering new ideas that influence her approach to design.

melissa johnson
bookkeeper

melissa studied business & merchandising at the university of north texas, where she began her career in retail. she went on to open a home design and gift store, and it was there she discovered an unexpected passion for accounting, bookkeeping, and all things numbers. she soon pivoted into finance, becoming financial director at sunroom, and has counted slic design among her clients since 2020. melissa believes in keeping communication as clear as the numbers themselves, and works closely with clients to make sure invoicing is always transparent and easy to follow.

outside of reconciling, you'll find melissa laughing with family or slowly redesigning her own home.

becky wittsche
administrative assistant

becky is a lifelong learner who welcomes every chance to grow. after earning her degree in management information systems from texas a&m university, she began her career as a programmer with at&t. her interest in acupuncture led her to pursue night classes, a master’s degree, and board certification, ultimately shifting into a 15 year career as a licensed acupuncturist. during those years, she also explored her creative side through muraling, collaborating with a professional artist on several projects in austin, including the zilker train tunnel. she remained active in her children’s school community as well, and serving as pta treasurer rekindled her enthusiasm for working with numbers.she retired her acupuncture license in 2020 and joined slic in 2021, where she found the ideal blend of her passion for accuracy and efficiency with her long standing appreciation for art. 

outside of work you can find becky snuggling with family or on the pickleball court.
